Lecture: Innovating fast and slow

Klik hier voor de Nederlandse versie

The world changes at an accelerating speed. Every innovation claims to be disruptive.
But is this really true?
Don’t we equally observe phenomena of inertia and slowness? Around 2000, quantum computing and the hydrogen economy were announced with a lot of fuss, while we nowadays realize it takes (a lot of) time to deliver the promises. At the same time, digital platforms grow exponentially and fast.
How to reconcile such contradictions?

On the 1st of July, Professor Bart Van Looy addresses these issues and introduces a typology of innovative trajectories. With appealing illustrations and academic evidence, he will document how innovations manifest themselves in different guises, how they unfold over time, and what their implications are for entrepreneurship.
